Yak wool: Yak wool is one kind of animal fibre, it is very soft and warm, it is a luxury material to use for spinning yarn, 100% yak yarn and blended yarn with other natural fiber like silk, cashmere and sheep wool, it is popular for textile field for many years. Yak wool Products are very nice with good hand feel. About 75% of world’s production comes from China. Yak fiber widely be used to make knitwear and woven product.
There are 2 natural color for yak hair, dark brown and natural white, Natural white yak is very less but dark brown is more quantity. Yaks live in Tibet and Qinghai province, which area is very cold place. In order to resist the cold, lots of fine yak fiber grows out. Harvest season for yak wool is May and June every year. Thickness of yak wool is about 19.5mic-20.5mic, and length is about 26-28mm. Longest yak wool fiber can be used for spinning yak top which is used for worsted spinning, and short fiber is normally used for woolen yarn.
